Getting student feedback about my teaching style is really important to me. Here is what one student who wrote about me in her English-9 class.

WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE TEACHER AT ST. FRANCIS HIGH SCHOOL?

“My favorite teacher in this whole school is Mr. Erickson. Every day in his class I learn something new and it challenges me. I remember in eighth grade when the math teacher there would just give us an assignment, and let us ask any questions we wanted to about the assignment the next day so we would be able to just fill the answers in. In Mr. Erickson’s class, it’s fun to learn new material. We want to challenge ourselves to get that A on the assignment and do well on the note assignments and quizzes.

Every day I am excited and anxious to get to his class. The other teachers just do what they’re supposed to do and that’s about it. In Mr. Erickson’s class, if somebody doesn’t understand what it is we’re learning, he won’t go any further until everybody is up to speed. He’s a really funny guy and I love being in his class, he makes it fun to learn. At the beginning I was a little nervous because he seemed really strict, but now I understand what has to be done to learn geometry. Mr. Erickson is definitely, by far, my favorite teacher in St. Francis High School.”
